The 18-month journey

Four phases designed to take you from experienced practitioner to confident manager.

Phase 1Months 1–3

Assessment and planning

  • Skills assessment and gap analysis
  • Personal development plan agreed with your manager
  • Role assignment based on experience and goals
  • Introduction to In4ra management frameworks
  • First certification pathway identified and started
Phase 2Months 4–9

Technical and management depth

  • Role-specific Microsoft or CompTIA certification
  • ITIL 4 Foundation certification
  • Leading on client projects with increasing autonomy
  • Monthly mentoring sessions with a senior manager
  • Leadership and communication skills programme
Phase 3Months 10–14

Management practice

  • Formal management responsibilities (team lead or project lead)
  • Involvement in client relationship management
  • Contributing to business development and proposals
  • Advanced certification (Microsoft Associate or equivalent)
  • Presenting to clients and senior stakeholders
Phase 4Months 15–18

Transition to management

  • Full performance and salary review
  • Formal promotion to management or senior technical role
  • Personal development portfolio presented
  • Three-year career plan agreed
  • Transition to mentoring the next cohort
